Crown and Bridge

Crowns are used to provide adequate strength to a weakened tooth, due to trauma or decay, by better distributing chewing forces. A bridge is an option to replace missing teeth by linking an artificial tooth to multiple crowns. Crowns are typically made from gold or porcelain.

Root Canals

Root Canals

A root canal is the space within the root of a tooth that harbors the pulp, or nerve. Root canal therapy is a procedure done to treat an infected tooth, due to trauma, decay or periodontal disease, in an effort to save the tooth. The procedure consists of removing the nerve inside the tooth and cleaning out the causative agents of inflammation, then placing a filling type material down into each canal space. Typically a crown is needed afterwards to restore the tooth to proper form and function.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth. Dental implants can be used to support a number of dental prostheses, including crowns, implant-supported bridges or dentures. They are the closest to a natural tooth that we have in dentistry today.
